Run3D provides an accurate and objective assessment of your biomechanics in order to understand the root-cause of injury and provide you with an evidence-based, long-term solution to the problem.
We take scientific measurements of your 3D gait biomechanics, muscular strength, flexibility and alignment and use the information to create a personalised and effective rehabilitation programme.
Run3D is a spin-out from the University of Oxford and uses a state-of-the art 3D motion capture system, combined with the world’s largest biomechanical database to offer you the most rigorous assessment of your running or walking injury that is currently available.
Run3D is partnered with the world-leaders in 3D gait analysis – the Running Injury Clinic at the University of Calgary.
Together we are proudly leading the way in our evidence-based approach to musculoskeletal overuse injuries.
The UK’s Most Scientific Approach
An accurate measure of your biomechanics is very important when it comes to successfully preventing and treating musculoskeletal overuse injuries. In fact understanding what caused your injury in the first place is fundamental to putting it right!
advanced gait analysis
We pride ourselves in offering you the most accurate assessment of your running biomechanics that modern science is able to provide. Our rigorous approach enables us to accurately identify the root-cause of your injury right away.
The Run3D service analyses the way you move very differently to the video-based assessments you might have seen at your local running store and other sports injury clinics. Our advanced infrared technology and custom-built software are based on decades of research from some of the world’s leading universities, including the University of Oxford and the University of Calgary. You can rest assured that our protocols are based on real science!
We can measure your joint angles to within two degrees of accuracy and compare your gait to the world’s largest biomechanical database so that we can identify the most subtle abnormalities in your running style.
We quantify your joint angles in three-dimensions and this means that we are able to detect problems that are impossible to detect by eye or by video. More often than not it is these subtle problems that have caused your injury.
Our expertly trained clinicians are then able to use all this information to understand why you developed the injury in the first place and provide you with an effective, long-term solution to the problem.
We share your passion for sport and want to help you return to activity as soon as you can. Read below to find out more about our assessments and state-of-the-art technology.
3D Gait & Biomechanical Assessment
The ultimate injury assessment package and the most accurate and scientific analysis of your gait and biomechanics that is available in the UK.
The assessment combines the results of an advanced 3D gait analysis with scientific measures of your strength, flexibility and alignment. By measuring all these factors we can provide you with specific and evidence-based recommendations to resolve your injury.
The 3D Gait & Biomechanical Assessment is all carried out in a single two-hour session.
3D Gait Analysis
The most objective and scientific assessment of your running or walking gait that is currently available. We identify any abnormal patterns in the way that you move and use the information to recommend the most appropriate course of action for you. This might be a rehabilitation programme, physiotherapy or an orthotic/foot-wear recommendation.
We do not take objective measures of your strength, flexibility and alignment as is done in the 3D Gait & Biomechanical Assessment.
Everything is carried-out in a single one-hour assessment and the results of the 3D gait analysis are processed within this time. Read more.
